This spring the Buckeye Golf Trail will celebrate its first full year of operation and is offering residents and visitors a chance to experience some of the states finest courses designed by the likes of Arthur Hills and Brian Huntley for a fraction of the regular cost. At a cost of only $40, golfers can purchase a Trail Membership for the 2009 golf season and enjoy a full package of benefits. With a Trail Membership you’ll receive the Buckeye Golf Trail Passport which provides card holders with discounted golf and cart on all 10 of the trail’s courses at any time of day Monday through Friday and weekends after noon, golfers will receive a 20 percent discount on greens fees. A 10 percent discount is granted on weekends before noon. In addition to these discounts, golfers will receive half off a bucket of range balls. And there is no limit to the number of times you can use the passport card at the 10 trail courses. Discounts also extend to merchandise in the pro shop (20 percent) and food and beverages (10 percent).
Trail members will also receive a free trail golf towel, free Hooters T-shirt, a free trail t-shirt after you’ve played five courses and free merchandise and food at any participating Hooters restaurant valued at more than $50. There is also a year-end golf event in October exclusively for members of the Buckeye Golf Trail. For every membership sold, the Buckeye Golf Trail will donate $1 directly to A Kid Again (formerly Adventures for Wish Kids). All of these discounts and added benefits are tempting enough, and that’s before you’ve even stepped one foot on any of the trail’s outstanding courses. Throughout the Buckeye Golf Trail you’ll be treated to dozens of distinct characteristics that combine to create a one-of-a-kind golf experience. Many facilities are dedicated strictly to golf, with no development as far as the eye can see. Others shine as the centerpiece to master planned communities. Many are rated as top places to play by thenation’s top golf publications. Golfers who travel the trail will find lakefront gems, British Isle tributes and home-grown classics.
